I am totally a blusher kinda gal. Pinks, corals, oranges - I love them all!
Benefit is one of my favourite brands for blushers. Why you may ask? The cute packaging, dinky (but often handy) little brush, brilliant pigmentation and amazing longevity are all reasons why I adore these boxes of blushes!
Last Spring, Benefit launched GALifornia - a pinky coral colour that is perfect for spring/summer time. This month sees the launch of Gold Rush, a golden, peach blush that doubles as a blusher and a highlighter - I'm all for multi-purpose products and anyone who knows me knows I LOVE shimmery blushers. I don't wear highlighter daily so this works well for me!
Cult Beauty launched the blusher exclusively on their website last week and being the Benefit addict I am, I just had to have it!
Benefit packaging never disappoints. The blush is housed in their classic cardboard box but this time in a blush pink with gold embossed stars all over. There's a "Western" vibe to the packaging featuring a pair of ladies Western boots. As always, the packaging comes with a built in mirror and a handy little brush (great for when you're on the go).
Benefit describes their latest addition as a "warm golden-nectar blush." There's a "golden nugget" overspray which Benefit states "lifts away to reveal a rich, nectar shade." There are flecks of gold throughout which add a subtle sheen to the cheeks. I love a shimmery blush and the flecks aren't chunky at all, just enough to give a soft glow.
On first impressions, this looked really similar to their popular Rockateur blusher (one of my favourites) but upon swatching, this is definitely more peachy whereas Rockateur is more pink/rose gold. I expected it to be more pink (perhaps because of the blush pink packaging) but it's a gorgeous shade of shimmery peach with just a hint of pink. It is more subtle and shimmery than GALifornia and more golden and pink than Coralista.

The swatches didn't photograph well, unfortunately, but you can see the differences between the different shades.
I love this shade and can see it being a summer favourite as it's peachy, golden and shimmery - perfect for summer nights out and holidays. It also smells gorgeous - musky and slightly sweet. I love the different scents of Benefit blushers.
I would say it is best suited to light/medium skin tones as a blusher but would make a gorgeous highlight shade for darker skin tones. I will be sure to upload a photo soon to this post/Instagram of me wearing it so you can get a better idea of how it looks.
